Q: How do I get to the Fair?

A: The Schomberg Fair is very easy to get to, as it is located at the intersection of Highway 27 and Highway 9 – just west of Highway 400. For detailed instructions, please go to directions page.

Q: What is the Fair like?

A: The Schomberg Fair is probably a lot different than you’re picturing… The Schomberg Fairgrounds aren’t located out in the middle of a muddy field on the outskirts of town, quite the contrary actually… The Schomberg Fairgrounds are located right in the heart of downtown Schomberg. The grounds are separated from the Main Street by a gently flowing river that runs parallel to the road. There is an arena, rides, plenty of parking and genuine agricultural fairgrounds – all of which are surrounded by rolling hills and small town neighbourhoods. The Schomberg Fair is the heart of Schomberg! If you haven’t been to the fair before, come see what you’ve been missing for the past 160 years… The Schomberg Fair – a great way to experience and support the agricultural community.

Q: When does the Fair start?

A: This year, the fair starts on Thursday, May 27th and continues until the evening of Sunday, May 30th 2010.

Q: Who puts on the Fair?

A: The Fair is held each year (for the past 160 years) by the Schomberg Agricultural Society. To see who’s involved in the Society, please look in about the Fair.

Q: Why is the Fair held?

A: The Fair is held for many reasons, but some of the main reasons are: To educate the general population on the joys, benefits and hardships of agricultural life To continue a 160 year old tradition and preserve our agricultural heritage. To have fun and bring our community together.

Q: Who owns the schomberg Agricultural fair grounds?
A:
Contrary to what most people believe, the Schomberg Agricultural Fairgrounds are owned and operated by the Society, consisting of over 150 members. Although sports groups and the general public have access to the facilities, the Fairgrounds are privately owned.
