This Year’s Theme: “Hay Bales & Cow Tails”

Junior Exhibits may be brought to the Schomberg Community Hall on Thursday from 7pm-9pm, or Friday from 8:30am – 11:30 am.They will remain in place until 4:30 p.m. Sunday evening.

  • All rules at the beginning of the Homecraft section apply.

No entry fee is required in this section but All Entrants Must Have An Exhibitor Number which is available at the Community Hall registration desk when dropping off exhibits.

Yellow, blue, or white tags that say “Schomberg” may be used for entries -tags are also available to download/print on the website

      Competitors are encouraged to include the 2026 Schomberg Agricultural Fair theme “Hay Bales & Cow Tails”” in their entries wherever possible.

      The general rules at the beginning of the Homecraft Section apply to this class.

        • Items to be clean and odour-free. Any soiled entry may be disqualified. Please ensure that all loose ends are finished and that there are no knots in knitted articles.
        • A copyright design cannot be displayed at a Fair without permission being granted from the owner of the copyright. When the owner of the copyright has granted permission, the exhibit will be displayed and labeled appropriately. Without this permission displayed, the item cannot be judged (OAAS).
        • Quilt entries in Class 32, Section 1,2,3 & 4 may be shown 2 years only. All other entries in Class 32 Needlework may be shown 1 year only.
        • All quilts in Class 32, Section 1,2,3 & 4 must measure a minimum of 823 centimetres (324 inches) on the perimeter, unless otherwise specified
        • All quilts in sections 1,2,3 & 4 must be hand-quilted, unless otherwise specified
        • Please do not fasten mitts, gloves, hats, etc. together with yarn. Please pin so the judges can easily see inside.
        • Samples of yarn and/or material used to make the article must be attached to all items. Sections 1 – 4 are exempt from this requirement.
        • If possible, label quilt with name of design for spectator benefit and credit the designer

      For 2026, the Schomberg Fair is continuing with online registration for certain exhibitor classes. We are encouraging our exhibitors to register their entries online. Follow the instructions below to sign up for your competition on AssistExpo. Questions? Contact homecraft@schombergfair.com

      How to Enter a Competition Online

      • Step 1: Find your exhibitor class and section on the Schomberg Fair website under “Competitions”.
      • Step 2: Click the link to our Online Entry Form hosted by AssistExpo. If you have used this system before at another fair, log in. If this is your first time, you must create an account by providing your name and contact information. Then, complete your contest registration according to the on-screen instructions. AssistExpo will assign you an Exhibitor number—make sure to save this number along with your username and password.
      • Step 3: After registering, print or save your confirmation message. Collect your printed tags. Remember the date and time your exhibits need to be delivered to the fair.

      In Person Registration of Entries

      If you do not have a way to preregister your fair exhibits online, we are more than happy to help during the exhibit drop off times: Thursday evening May 28 between 7 and 9 and Friday morning May 29 between 9 and 1130 am. Please note that while the Fair grounds are not open to the public Thursday evening, the Community Hall will be open to receive exhibits.
