This Year’s Theme: “From Farm to Table

 

Junior Exhibits may be brought to the Schomberg Community Hall on Thursday from 7pm-9pm, or Friday from 8:30am – 11:30 am.They will remain in place until 4:30 p.m. Sunday evening.

  • All rules at the beginning of the Homecraft section apply.

 

No entry fee is required in this section but All Entrants Must Have An Exhibitor Number which

is available at the Community Hall registration desk when dropping off exhibits.

Yellow, blue, or white tags that say “Schomberg” may be used for entries -tags are also available to download/print on the website

  • Plaques will be awarded to each champion in each class/age group…classes 34-39 -prizes for all section champions will be awarded, except specials and OAAS competitions

 

PRIZES FOR JUNIOR CLASSES  34 – 39

1st – $4.00, $2nd – 3.50, 3rd- $3.00

 

  1. Most points by exhibitor in Classes 34 – 39 will receive a prize donated by York Region Milk Board

100.Most points by exhibitor in Classes 34 – 39 will receive a $25.00 prize donated by Jack Orr

101.2nd most points by exhibitor in Class 34 – 39 will receive a $15.00 prize donated by Jack Orr

 

Class 34: Sections 1-6

Ages 3 and under

1.Artwork made using a Bingo dabber

2.Any subject – Crayon

3.Decorate your footprint to resemble something (eg. animal/tractor) you would find on the farm

4.Decorate one cookie (on a plate covered in wrap/plastic bag, will be judged on appearance only)

5.Collect items found on a walk and display them in a box

6.Decorate a farm animal colouring page

 

Class 35: Sections 1-7

Ages 4 – 5

1.Paint a picture by stamping cut vegetables

2.Any subject – Media of choice

3.Any photo you have taken outdoors

4.Create no bake cookies using one ingredient from a farm/farmers market/ mill/ garden etc (please provide 3 on a plate covered in wrap/plastic bag)

5.Using beads, create a necklace

6.Grow a Bean from a seed

7.Make a farm animal using a paper plate and pompoms

 

Class 36: Sections 1-7

Ages 6 – 8

1.Create a collage of what “From Farm to Table” means to you

2.Any subject – Media of choice

3.Photo of a farm animal

4.Make a Mug brownie (Mug will not be judged, Please cover top of mug with wrap)

5.Create a farm animal using beads

6.Grow a vegetable from a seed

7.Make a picture by gluing seeds onto paper plate

 

Class 37: Sections 1-7

Ages 9 – 11

1.Draw a picture of what “From Farm to Table” means to you

2.Any subject – Media of choice

3.Photo of farm equipment

4.Make your favourite muffins using one ingredient from a farm/farmers market/mill/garden (please provide 3 on a plate covered in wrap)

5.Create a sensory jar in a leakproof container

6.Grow a vegetable from a seed

7.Design a fair scene with any material, in a cardboard box

 

Class 38: Sections 1-7

Ages 12 – 13

1.Paint a picture of what “From Farm to Table” means to you

2.Any subject – Media of choice

3.Collection of 3 photos of any animal

4.Bake squares using one ingredient from a farm/farmers market/ mill/garden (please provide 3 on a plate covered in wrap/plastic bag)

5.Homemade Clay-dough (play dough) in a sealable jar/container

6.Grow a plant from food scraps

7.Create a barnyard animal from a egg carton

 

Class 39: Sections 1-7

Ages 14 – 17

1.Create a diagram illustrating the process of from “From Farm to Table”

2.Any subject – Media of choice

3.Photo of Farm/Farmers market

4.Bake cookies using one ingredient from a farm/farmers market/ mill/garden (please provide 3 on a plate covered in wrap/plastic bag)

5.Knit/crochet/sculpt/felt/sew something you would find on a farm eg. animal/tractor/plant/crop (include a material sample)

6.Make a terrarium, in a glass/clear plastic container, containing at least 1 plant

7.Hobby craft from a kit (your choice)

 

 

Class 40: Chocolate Chip Cookie O.A.A.S. Competition

 

The winner in Class 40 may proceed to the District 5 Competition

held in October, 2024.

PRIZE:  1st: $4.00, 2nd: 3.50, 3rd: $3.00

Plain chocolate chips with no nuts

8 cookies on firm, disposable plate in a plastic bag.

Cookies to be no larger than 3” (6.75cm) and not smaller than 2” (5cm”)

 

 

Class 41:

Junior Division – Special

This Special is open to all Junior age groups.

 

1.Poster – 2024 Fair Theme “From Farm to Table” Must be hand drawn on 1/2 sheet of Bristol board. One prize only: $10.00

 

1.Open to all Youth ages 10 – 15 years (as of December 31, of current year)
